Agya Koo, who began his acting career long before Lil Win and rose to fame earlier, believes he is a bigger figure in the industry.
However, Lil Win does not consider himself a newcomer and argues that he is the one currently keeping Kumawood relevant.
Background to Lil Win jabbing Agya Koo
Lil Win’s statement on Nhyira FM, made in response to claims that Agya Koo is bigger than him, has reignited social media debates.
According to him, Agya Koo is no longer relevant, calling him an “Old King” and claiming that the veteran actor now only performs highlife music at funerals and makes podcasts.

In the interview, Lil Win, born Kwadwo Nkansah, stated:
“Agya Koo now does interviews (podcasts), and he’s an old king. We don’t include old kings in current conversations. After recording a podcast, he later goes to perform at funerals.”

However, Agya Koo clapped back on Twitter barely an hour after Lil Win’s comments. He quote-tweeted the video of the interview and wrote:
“I’ve transitioned to live band and I’m loving it. You’re also making music, and I’m proud to have inspired many actors and actresses, including you. Just that you make noise on beat like some Bantama ‘kwenkwen’ seller.”
“You claim your time is now? Nigerian movies weren’t widely accepted in Ghana back in my day, but my movies were the talk of the town. You’re chasing recognition in Nigeria, yet claiming to be the king? Keep pushing the boundaries of art, but stop making noise, Actor Kwame. 😂😂😂😂😂.”

Reactions to Lil Win's & Agya Koo's beef
Social media users have shared mixed reactions to the renewed tension between the two Kumawood stars. Here are some comments:
WEakorli commented:
“You and your Kumawood folks destroyed the movie industry with your cartoons. You shoot with unprofessionals, without scripts or plans, and start selling two weeks after shooting. You overshadowed trained actors with greed, and now look at the result.”
CobbyBillion commented:
“The better actor? Agya Koo. Funnier? Maybe Lil Win, but that’s debatable. From concert party days to cassettes and CDs, Agya Koo is the legend of legends.”
Official_Konadu commented:
“Unhealthy competition in every aspect of our lives is why this country isn’t progressing. Kwadwo Nkansah always feels entitled and seeks to belittle his fellow actors. Competition is fine, but the negativity and jealousy are too much. We are our own downfall.”
ObengSM commented:
“Maybe Lil Win is just seeking the right attention to promote his movie. But the fact remains: Agya Koo is the greatest of all time in Ghana’s movie industry. No one comes close. It’s high time we celebrated his great work.”

“I doubt Legendary Agya Koo wrote that tweet; it was probably his manager or whoever runs his account. Regardless, Agya Koo is a LEGEND. We know what he did in his prime—he transformed Ghana’s movie industry.”
Lil Win fumes at Lumba's vigil scheduling
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Lil Win had called for support for Okomfo Kwadee instead of using funds on Daddy Lumba’s candlelight vigil.
This came after the vigil was scheduled for the same date as Lil Win’s Ibrahim Traore movie premiere on August 2, 2025, which he believes will reduce the buzz surrounding both events.
He expressed disappointment in the Creative Arts Council, saying the vigil could have been scheduled on another date.
