Former President of Ghana, William Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, visited Daddy Lumba's residence at East Legon on Friday, August 1, 2025, following his untimely passing.

The former president received a rousing reception from bloggers and members of the New Patriotic Party, including former Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Sammy Awuku, and others, as he arrived at the late musician's residence to commiserate with his family.
Former Presidential Secretary Nana Asante Bediatuo, who is still in recovery after suffering a stroke, was also present to accompany Akufo-Addo as part of a delegation to meet Daddy Lumba's family.
Nana Akufo-Addo exchanged pleasantries with the late music icon's family and loved ones before signing the book of condolences reserved for the guests.
At a point during his visit, the former president was visibly overwhelmed with emotions and almost near tears as he mourned the late highlife legend, who composed multiple hit songs, including the iconic "Nana Ye Winner" soundtrack for his campaigns from 2008 to 2020.

During his visit to Daddy Lumba's residence, Nana Akufo-Addo shared an emotional tribute to the late musician in his family's presence.
The former president recounted how he heard the news of the highlife musician's demise during his recent travels abroad.

He noted that he decided to visit Daddy Lumba's grieving family after returning to Ghana from his trip on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Nana Akufo-Addo also praised the late musician for the significant contributions he made to his political career. According to him, the late music icon helped him gain popularity in various societies across the country.
He also highlighted Daddy Lumba's legacy in the Ghanaian music industry, stating that the musician's name couldn't be omitted from the history books.
The former president shared his heartfelt condolences with the late musician's family and pledged to support them in their funeral arrangements as a show of gratitude to the deceased for his contributions to his political successes.
