Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra.

Lumba fell ill at his home in East Legon and was rushed to the health facility, but tragically did not survive.

He was 60 years old and left behind two wives and seven children.

Following his death, family members and prominent members of Ghanaian society have flocked to his home to express their condolences, pay their last respects, and sign his book of condolence.

Daddy Lumba’s sister weeps at his home

The late highlife great was the second child of three children born to his parents, Comfort Gyamfi, aka Ama Saah, and Johnson Kwadwo Fosu.

His two sisters were named Ernestina Fosu, aka Akosua Brempongmaah, and Faustina Fosu.

In a video seen by YEN.com.gh on Friday, August 1, 2025, Ernestina arrived at Daddy Lumba’s house in East Legon to mourn with the rest of the family.

She was in the company of former musician turned evangelist, Papa Shee, a close friend of the Lumba family.

Ernestina looked overwhelmed on arrival and was spotted weeping bitterly over the loss of her younger brother.

She was helped to walk into the home, as she appeared weak from grief.

Daddy Lumba’s first wife mourns

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa, arrived in Ghana to join in mourning in death.

She appeared at his home after flying from her base in Germany, where she was spotted shedding tears over his passing.

A sad video of her struggling with grief went viral on social media and elicited sympathetic responses from Ghanaians.
