Ghanaian business magnate Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong has set the record straight on rumours linking him as the biological father of the late Michael Kwasi Ofori.

Ernest Sarpong addresses rumours about Michael Ofori

Speaking to NKONKONSA.com, Dr Ofori Sarpong clarified that Michael was his godson, not his son by blood.

He explained that their relationship began during one of the Ɔdadeɛ (PRESEC) old students’ reunion celebrations, where he served as president of the association.

According to Dr Ofori Sarpong, he grew fond of Michael because they shared the same name, and he admired Michael’s hardworking and admirable character.

This led him to take the young entrepreneur under his mentorship.

While dismissing the paternity rumours, Dr Ofori Sarpong expressed deep sadness over Michael’s passing and pledged to stand by the bereaved family during the funeral.

The late Michael Ofori, a member of the PRESEC 2007 Year Group, was the immediate past Ɔdadeɛ Global Director of Mentorship and an entrepreneur. He passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Further details about arrangements with the family are set to be announced soon.

Kennedy Osei mourns Michael Ofori after passing
