Helicopter crash victims' remains laid in state
At dawn today (August 15), Ghana began the solemn farewell to six of the eight victims of the tragic Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crash in Adansi Akrofuom.
According to reports, at around 6:15 a.m., the caskets bearing their remains arrived at the Black Star Square, transported in luxury hearses by Transitions, the country’s leading funeral home.

Each casket, draped in the red, gold, green, and black of the national flag, was received with full military honours.
The atmosphere was heavy with grief as soldiers, families, dignitaries, and members of the public stood in quiet reverence, paying tribute to the men and women who died in the line of duty.
The final funeral rites marked a moment of national mourning, as Ghana reflected on the devastating August 6 crash that claimed the lives of eight service members.
The ceremony on Friday, August 15, 2025, is set to bring together state officials, military leadership, and the public in a united show of respect for the fallen heroes.

Captain Smart pays tribute to victims
