Shatta Wale was detained by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Wednesday, August 20, following an investigation into his yellow Lamborghini Urus.

The vehicle was linked to Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian serving a jail term in the United States, and was marked by the FBI as stolen property and the proceeds of crime.

EOCO seized the vehicle from Shatta Wale in May and invited him for a meeting on August 20.

Blakk Rasta details EOCO meeting about Wale

Speaking on his show The Black Pot on Friday, August 22, Blakk Rasta said he had met the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer.

Blakk Rasta said the meeting covered the Shatta Wale issue, and while it was originally intended to last only ten minutes, it went on for over three hours.

He said Archer informed him that EOCO originally intended to keep the matter quiet until Shatta Wale publicly spoke about it.

Blakk Rasta added that Raymond Archer informed him that they only wanted Shatta Wale to give them information about the origin of the Lamborghini, but he had chosen to be uncooperative, claiming he got it from the ‘streets’.

The Black Pot host said Wale’s lack of cooperation has heightened FBI interest in the case.

“My information is that the FBI has become overly interested in this matter. Last month, Interpol said Ghana has become the biggest stolen car hub in the world. That is terrible. Anybody who steals cars around the world is looking for Ghana. It is a lucrative business that has made a lot of people rich illegally,” he said.

Black Rasta added that if Shatta Wale does not give out the necessary information for the FBI to find the ringleaders of this stolen car syndicate, he could be extradited abroad to face charges.

“Where it is right now is not so pretty. Shatta Wale may be extradited to America, like they did to Kofi Boat and Hajia4Reall. And over there, they would do forensic investigations. Whatever accounts he has around the world would start being frozen. They'll track every penny, and that is not a good story," he concluded.
