King Promise pays tribute to Daddy Lumba

Videos trending on social media screen-recorded from King Promise's Snapchat account, showed the singer recounting the time he visited Daddy Lumba's plush residence.

To reflect the nature of the moment, King Promise used Daddy Lumba's Yesu Ka Yen Ho which translates to God is with you from Twi to English as the background song.

Writing a heartfelt message on his Snapchat account, the Favourite Story hitmaker mentioned that some two months ago, he and the legendary highlife musician came together to collaborate on a joint album.

He explained that the video he shared was captured at the Makra Mo crooner's residence. King Promise narrated that he had gone to Lumba's house to sample the late musician's classics and create a new fusion sound, but unfortunately, fate had other plans.

"I write this with a heavy heart. 2 months ago, the legend & I decided to work on a joint album together. He stayed away from the public eye but invited me into his personal home. We were going to sample some of his classics and create a new fusion sound, as he loved what I had already done. Imagine Daddy Lumba telling me how much he loved me & was proud of me."

Speaking about the conversations he had with the music legend, King Promise disclosed that Daddy Lumba offered him advice on various issues ranging from music to his personal life as they discussed their plans to release the joint album.

All this while, he was starstruck.

"Dumbfounded because I couldn't believe I was sitting in his living room alone with him getting advice from the goat himself and planning this big surprise, but unfortunately, I received the biggest surprise this morning. I was hoping this morning's story was a hoax after so many of them.......but this time, sadly, it wasn't."

In his concluding message, the Selfish hitmaker wrote,

"RIP Papa. Heartfelt condolences to the family. We will forever keep your name and legacy flying. Sleep @realdaddylumba."
