Nana Okyere Darko, a sibling of the legendary Ghanaian highlife icon Daddy Lumba, has levelled some accusations against him following his recent passing.

In a recent interview with blogger Foreigner Multimedia, the late music icon spoke about his deceased brother's temperament throughout his life. According to him, his brother was quick-tempered despite being successful in his music career.
Daddy Lumba's brother alleges musician neglected family
Nana Okyere Darko claimed that despite having a close relationship with Daddy Lumba before his death, none of his late brother's friends in Accra knew him or other members of his extended family.
The highlife legend's brother advised the youth not to forget about their family backgrounds whenever they become wealthy.
He claimed that despite owning several houses in Accra and other areas, his late brother neglected his family and failed to fund any project in his hometown, Mampong Nsuta Ekuo.
Nana Okyere Darko also recounted how he and his relatives heard the news of Daddy Lumba's passing on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

He also noted that the late music icon had been living in his plush residence in Accra with only his wife, Priscilla Ofori Atta, and their little children.
Daddy Lumba's brother also confirmed that their family head had been officially informed of the late Aben Wo Ha hitmaker's demise.
Nana Okyere Darko shared that his late brother was not brought up in his hometown and that he first visited the village at a young age when his father retired from his occupation.
He also recounted how he and his late brother battled each other for a traditional throne in a different community.
Daddy Lumba's brother also recounted how his brother fell out with his extended family following the death of a goat he had bought to seek forgiveness from an elderly man with whom he had a dispute.

Speaking to YEN.com.gh in an interview, Ama Nsroma, counsellor and head of the Nsroma Consult, spoke about how Daddy Lumba’s actions, as described by his brother, might affect the legacy he has left behind.
She said:
"If Daddy Lumba’s brother’s claims are true, such neglect could tarnish his legacy, especially in the eyes of his family and hometown. Legacy isn't built only on fame but also on relationships and impact. Failing to support one’s roots can lead to a disconnect between public admiration and private disappointment."

Daddy Lumba's brother addresses his widow's rumours
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Daddy Lumba's brother addressed rumours of his widow, Priscilla Ofori Atta, having issues with his family.
In a video, Ebenezer Oppong said his brother's widow had followed tradition to officially announce his death to the family, contrary to claims.
Another member of Daddy Lumba's family noted that they had set up a media committee that would release formal details about the funeral.
