Seated among the mourners, the gospel singer, dressed in a glittering black and white lace outfit paired with a sparkling white headscarf, folded her arms as she appeared to nod off.

The video has since gone viral online, sparking conversations and lighthearted reactions in contrast to the otherwise heavy mood of the day.

Despite the emotional weight of the occasion, Cecilia Marfo’s brief doze added an unexpected and somewhat humanising touch to the day. Her choice of attire stood out, with the sparkling sequined lace dress and neatly tied white turban exuding both elegance and respect for the solemn occasion.

While many sympathised with her, suggesting that the intensity of the long ceremony may have caused her to drift off momentarily, others on social media have playfully turned the moment into memes.

Regardless, her presence at the state funeral underscored the support of the gospel community for the bereaved families and the armed forces in such a difficult time.
