Kofi Kinaata cries out over national tragedies

In his post on X, the Things Fall Apart hit-maker recounted the devastating loss of 16 young members of the Obogu Saviour Church, who tragically perished in a gory accident on the Juaso stretch of the Accra-Kumasi highway.

He also recounted the passing of legendary musician Daddy Lumba, who died on July 26, 2025, at the age of 60, and most recently, the military helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom that claimed eight lives on August 6, 2025.

Kinaata mentioned that the grief has been weighing heavily on his soul, especially after realising he had flown on the same helicopter route twice this year.

“That thought just won’t leave me. Moments like these really make you question life… what’s the point, when it can all end in an instant?” he wrote, admitting that even his music has taken on a sorrowful tone.

His vulnerable confession drew a touching response from rapper Sarkodie, who encouraged him not to suppress the pain but to channel it into his art.

“It’s a very dark time and I can relate a 💯 %. As a true artist, you can only channel what you feel, so don’t fight it. Just pour out what you are feeling inside. You don’t know who might need it. Drop the music,” Sarkodie wrote.

Lil Win laments lack of media support

In other entertainment news, YEN.com.gh reported that Lil Win voiced disappointment over what he described as the media’s silence on his much-publicised movie, Captain Ibrahim Traoré: The Last African Hero.

In a video shared on his social media pages, the actor lamented that despite the scale of investment and the significance of the story, media houses have given little attention to the project following its latest premiere.

Lil Win, who announced earlier that he had invested nearly $1 million into the production and promotion of the biopic movie, said he had expected broader coverage and conversations to follow the event.
