Sad Scenes at Jubilee House As Helicopter Crash in Ghana Leaves 8 Dead

Sad scenes emerged at Jubilee House after the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) confirmed that a military helicopter had crashed.
The aircraft, reported to be travelling to an event in the Ashanti Region, went off the radar on August 6, according to a statement.

A sorrowful video, which has gone viral on the YouTube page of Joy News, showed the Government Communication Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, in a mournful mood as people readied the conference room at the Jubilee House for the press conference.

Defence Minister Dr Omane Boamah, Acting Environment Minister Dr Ibrahim Mutuala Mohammed, and other high-ranking officials were aboard the plane.
A heartbreaking video showed the Interior Minister, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, weeping as the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, made the announcement.

Obuasi helicopter crash: eyewitness account of scene
An eyewitness who was at the scene of the incident has said he and others discovered six bodies after arriving at the location.
He explained that personnel from the Ghanaian military, the Local Assembly Member for Sikaman, and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, had arrived at the crash scene to assess the situation.

The man explained that the Z-9 helicopter was flying extremely low when it hit a tree and a mountain before going down in flames in the thick forest in Adansi Akrofum.
At the time of writing the report, the video from Jubilee House had raked in over 2,000 likes and 200 comments.

Bawumia mourns with family of helicopter victims
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia had mourned the tragic Obuasi helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight people.
The NPP politician said the dead paid the ultimate price in service to Ghana and also called the President to express sympathies as he and others mourned the losses.
