“Return Helicopter Crash Items for Cash Reward”: RCC Appeals to Adansi Residents
- On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, a helicopter crash occurred in the Adansi area in the Ashanti Region, claiming the lives of all eight on board
- The Ashati Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, called on residents in the area to return any items they retrieved from the site
- In a statement, the Minister gave a deadline for when there would be a cash reward for those who return the items
The Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council (ARCC) called on people living in the Adansi area to bring back any items they retrieved from the helicopter crash site, which claimed the lives of all eight on board.
According to the ARCC intelligence it gathered showed that some residents who were first at the crash site on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, took parts of the helicopter and other belongings of the deceased.

In a statement issued by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, he encouraged anyone who took anything, no matter how small, to return it for a reward.
The statement indicated that anybody who has any of the items can hand them over to Unit Committees, Assembly Members, Municipal or District Chief Executives, or any member of the investigating team at the site.
In addition, the ARCC said it would reward anyone who willingly returns items before or on Monday, August 11, 2025.
However, it stated that anyone caught in possession of items after the deadline will be considered a criminal and prosecuted.
“The ARCC is willing to offer a cash reward for any person who willingly returns any item. This offer will be in place until the close of day, Monday, 11 August 2025. Any person found in possession of such items beyond the above date would be deemed a criminal and would face the full rigours of the law. The general public is hereby notified.”
Ghanaians react to ARCC's request

"I’m sure a PA system or vehicle could also go round the township making public announcements for the retrieval of the debris that’s in their possession."

"Hopefully, the cash reward doesn’t motivate people to falsely submit 'scraps' as parts of the chopper. Kindly take this into consideration."

"If there are scrap metal dealers in the area, they should conduct thorough inspections around their premises. They should also remain vigilant in case anyone attempts to sell them any remains from the aircraft."

Farmers unhappy with helicopter crash investigation
YEN.com.gh reported that some farmers in the Adansi area said they are not able to go to their farms since the August 6 helicopter crash happened.
According to the farmers, they now buy food from street shops so they can eat instead of eating their farm produce.
The MP for Akrofrom, Joseph Azumah, entreated residents to help in the investigations into the crash.
