Gertrude Torkornoo looked very cheerful and even showed concern for an unidentified individual in front of her, urging him to watch his steps.

She then walked elegantly to her car and even acknowledged an onlooker who bid her goodbye.

CJ laments about veiled threats

Speaking at a press conference, Justice Torkornoo disclosed that her naysayers had vowed to deal with her if she failed to resign.

The head of the Judiciary said she had even received several threats from unknown individuals demanding her resignation in that regard.

Regardless of that, she stated that she would not resign, insisting that the attempt to remove her was fundamentally flawed.

"I have also heard several commentaries in the media about how this process was born out of a stated political agenda to remove me and control the judiciary, and that it is a political effort that can only result in the charade of a hearing that is played out. I thank all those who have engaged in this conversation out of concern for my safety and well-being," she said during her address.

The petitioners remain unknown, unlike the earlier three petitions currently being considered.

The reasons behind the two new petitions cited allegations of misconduct and abuse of power as reasons for seeking the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo from her role.
