Kennedy Agyapong’s Campaign Member Sues Samira’s Brother for Allegedly Demolishing His 10 Buildings

The New Patriotic Party's flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong's campaign member, Mr George Oti Bonsu, filed a lawsuit against former Second Lady Samira Bawumia's brother, Abu Ramadan, on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

According to reports, the former Assin Central MP's campaign team member sued the former Deputy Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for allegedly demolishing his ten buildings.
Mr George Oti Bonsu and Mr Abu Ramadan have been locked in a big dispute which began after the houses belonging to the former were destroyed in a demolition exercise that occurred on April 7, 2024, at Adjiringanor, near East Legon.
Samira Bawumia's brother had previously vowed to take back the land, which he claimed belonged to his father. The disputed land had been the subject of a legal tussle from the Adentan Municipal Court in Accra to the Tema High Court.
During a press conference held at the demolished site on April 24, 2024, Mr Bonsu accused Mr Ramadan of authorising the demolition exercise under the instructions of his sister, Samira Bawumia.

He shared that he invested approximately $3.5 million into the properties that were allegedly destroyed by Samira Bawumia's brother.
The office of the former Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, later clarified that she had no hand in the reported demolition of a building in the Adjiriganor enclave in Accra, which is at the centre of a legal tussle between two parties.
In a statement, former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's wife's office said it would be malicious for anyone to link her to the incident merely due to her connection to her brother, even though he’s not a party to the suit in court over the land.

Singaporean businessman sues Ashie Moore
In another story reported by YEN.com.gh, a Singaporean businessman sued the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, at the Human Rights Court.
In the lawsuit, Toh You Kang alleged that he was deceived into making a $1.5 million donation to the NDC during the 2024 election campaign.
The businessman alleged that Mr Ashie Moore used President John Dramani Mahama's name to convince him to support the party's 24-hour economy policy with campaign materials.
