Ghanaian media personality Sokoohemaa has earned the admiration of many for her show of empathy and compassion toward the grieving widow of the highlife legend.

This comes after she visited the residence of the late musician and took the opportunity to present a bouquet to Priscilla Ofori Atta, the widow of Daddy Lumba.

A video, which has since gone viral on TikTok, shows the moment Sokoohemaa presented the flowers to Odo Broni, who was dressed in mourning cloth, looking very sorrowful.

The media personality then engaged her in a brief conversation where she offered words of encouragement to the grieving widow

Chairman Wontumi consoles Lumba's widow

Since the passing of Daddy Lumba, dignitaries have thronged the home of the late 60-year-old to console the family on the loss of the highlife legend.

On Thursday, July 31, 2025, Bernard Antwi Bosiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), paid a condolence visit to the family of the legendary singer.

Wontumi was granted a private audience with Odo Broni, where the widow was seen weeping uncontrollably. Chairman Wontumi consoled her with his words, assuring her that the musician would live on forever through his songs.

Details of Lumba’s demise

Known in private life as Charles Kwadwo Fosu and popularly known as Daddy Lumba, he passed away at the age of 60 after a short illness.

The highlife legend was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, where he died shortly after arriving.

During one of his shows, he mentioned that he had to undergo surgery to repair injuries to his spine. The surgeries were successful, but later complications made life difficult, leaving him bedridden for significant parts of his final years.

The award-winning highlife legend, in his illustrious four-decade career, composed over 200 songs and 30 albums. He also nurtured many great musicians, including Dada KD and Ofori Amponsah.

Ghanaians empathise with Lumba’s Family

Prominent individuals, in a show of solidarity, have thronged the residence of the late musician to offer their condolences to the grieving family.

Notable among them are Nana Akufo-Addo, Osei Kwame Despite and Kwaku Oteng, among others.

Daddy Lumba disrespected Akosua Serwaa

A relationship counsellor, Rose Aboagyewaa Agyeiwaa, in a comment to YEN.com.gh, has expressed disappointment in the late Daddy Lumba over the choices he made in his love life.

She said that a married man who takes a mistress and goes on to legitimise the affair makes it clear that he has no respect for his wife.
