Controversial Ghanaian pastor Prophet Jedidia Henry Kore, popularly known as Fire Oja, has courted attention following the tragic helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In a viral video he shared on his official TikTok page, the preacher noted that he foresaw a tragic aviation disaster in Ghana during an old church service with his large congregation on Friday, April 11, 2025.
Among his congregation was a Ghanaian Armed Forces member, whom Prophet Fire Oja claimed was part of the tragic incident he foresaw.
He prophesied that the young man risked losing his life while flying in a helicopter during a national assignment.
Fire Oja warned the Ghana Armed Forces member to risk losing his job rather than going on the assignment, which he claimed would cost him his life.
Eight dead in Obuasi helicopter crash
Footage of Prophet Nana Kwame's old prophecy comes after eight people, including two cabinet Ministers, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and Murtala Muhammed, tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash while travelling for a national assignment.
The other victims of the unfortunate incident, which happened in a thick forest near Obuasi, were the Deputy National Security Coordinator, Limuna Muniru, a Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Samuel Sarpong, and the Former Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East, Samuel Aboagye.

Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah were the Ghana Army officials who also tragically perished in the national tragedy.

The victims were en route to the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) in Obuasi when their Z-9 helicopter lost contact and was initially presumed missing.
However, it was later confirmed by the Ghana Armed Forces and the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, that the plane had crashed inside the forest.
In a brief speech confirming the incident, the Chief of Staff described it as national tragedy and directed that all flags must fly at half-mast to honour the victims.
The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has since declared three days of mourning following the tragic helicopter crash.
Eyewitness details tragic helicopter crash in Obuasi
An eyewitness who was present at the site of the helicopter details the events that led to the incident during an interview with Kumasi-based radio station Otec FM.
According to the man whose identity is unknown, he and others initially discovered six bodies at the crash site.
The man explained that the Z-9 helicopter was flying very low when it hit a tree and a mountain before going down in flames in the thick forest in Adansi Akrofum.
