The wife of the Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, has been spotted following her husband's demise in a tragic helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In a video secretly recorded and shared on TikTok, the late Tamale Central Constituency MP's wife wore an all-white outfit with a hijab fully covering her head as per Islamic customs.
Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed's widow appeared to be sad as she and some loved ones, who had visited her residence to offer comfort and support, observed prayers for the late politician.
The late Environment Minister's wife remained speechless throughout the prayer session with other individuals at her residence.

Murtala Muhammed involved in Obuasi helicopter crash
Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed was among the eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in the helicopter crash that happened at the Sikaman Forest in the Adansi South District in the Ashanti Region.
The Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology and his colleague, Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah, were on board the Ghana Armed Forces' Z-9 helicopter when the tragic crash happened.
The Deputy National Security Coordinator, Limuna Muniru, a Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Samuel Sarpong, and a former Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East, Samuel Aboagye, also died in the crash.

Three military officers, Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, and Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, were also victims of the deadly crash.

The deceased were attending the official launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) in Obuasi.
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, officially announced the demise of the eight people during a live broadcast hours after the incident began.
President John Dramani Mahama also declared three days of mourning after the incident. The remains of the victims were retrieved from the crash site and transported to Accra.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held to honour the memory of the eight victims on Thursday, August 7, 2025, with the president and other top officials attending.

In a viral video on social media, the two women recounted how they received the news of the former Obuasi East NDC parliamentary candidate's demise.
