It was a difficult sight to behold at the ceremonial grounds of the Jubilee House on Friday, August 8, when Samuel Nartey George joined mourners to honour the memory of the eight individuals who died in the military helicopter crash at Adansi Sikaman on August 6.

An emotional video has since gone viral and was sighted by YEN.com.gh on the TikTok channel of @channel1tvgh, showing Sam George weeping uncontrollably at the event.

The Ningo Prampram MP was overcome with sorrow as he wept uncontrollably during the sombre moment, not minding that his emotional display had gained the attention of many around.

At one point, some mourners had to comfort him and eventually take him away while he continued to cry.

The Ningo Prampram MP, in an earlier post, expressed pain over the passing of the eight and called on Ghanaians to stop sharing sensitive photos about the incident.

He then wrote a lengthy post eulogising Edward Omane Boamah, and Sam George reflected on the relationship he had with him.

Details of the helicopter crash

A disaster occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, when the Armed Forces' Z-9 helicopter was involved in a crash at the Sikaman Forest in the Adansi South District, near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

All eight passengers aboard the helicopter died at the scene.

Two of the victims were cabinet ministers, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.

The others included the Deputy National Security Coordinator, Limuna Muniru; a Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Sarpong; the Deputy Director-General in charge of Relief and Protocol at NADMO, Samuel Aboagye; Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala; and Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu.

They were heading to the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) in Obuasi when the unfortunate incident occurred.
