Lordina Mahama: Ghana's First Lady Sorrowfully Pays Respects to GAF Helicopter Crash Victims

John Dramani Mahama's wife, Lordina Mahama, was seen at the Jubilee House paying her respect to the eight perished victims of Ghana's recent helicopter crash in the Ashanti region.

The first lady was joined by an entourage comprising her children, Farida and Sharaf, at the wreath-laying ceremony.
Other top government officials, including Sam George (Minister of Communication), Julius Debrah, and the Chief of Staff, were by her side.
The president's wife couldn't hide her sorrow as her time came for her to offer flowers to the departed eight casualties of the gory helicopter crash.

Leaning on Julius Debrah's shoulder, Lordina Mahama, in distress over the national tragedy, cried profusely.
It was a painful moment for the top officials around the First Lady to see her cry. Tears welled up in the eyes of Julius Debrah, Sam George, and Elvis Afriyie Ankrah as they tried to comfort the First Lady.
A day prior to her session at the Jubilee House, her husband, John Dramani Mahama, who is believed to be emotionally down after the tragic accident, evoked similar emotions as he paid his respects.
When the president addressed the nation for the first time after the accident which happened on August 6, he described it as a personal loss.
The tragic accident claimed the lives of three military officers and five government officials.
The eight people were on a national assignment when the helicopter they were flying on crashed at Adansi Sikaman, in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.
The fatalities included Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, Dr Alhaji Murtala Muhammed, MP for Tamale Central and Minister for Environment, Science & Technology, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr. Samuel Sarpong (Vice Chairman of the NDC), and Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate.
Military personnel Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah also perished.
