The video first showed the aviation engineers, numbering about five, working on the main landing gear of the military aircraft.

Some of the aviation engineers were also captured standing on one wing of the aircraft, apparently conducting some repairs.

The video has emerged at a time when the Ghana Armed Forces’ 7-9 military helicopter, carrying eight passengers en route from Accra to Obuasi, crashed in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, killing everyone aboard.
Persons aboard the flight were the Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah; the Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed; the Deputy National Security Coordinator, Limuna Muniru; the former Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Samuel Sarpong; and the former Obuasi East parliamentary aspirant, Samuel Aboagye.
They were headed to Obuasi for the official launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP), an anti-Galamsey event, before the tragic crash.
Following three days of national mourning, President John Dramani Mahama announced that an educational fund would be set up to support the victims of the crash.

Mikyjay commented:
"You've allowed these people to maintain this aircraft instead of calling professional engineers? What do they know about it?"
Ec stated:
"Hmmmm, I will reserve my comment for now and come back after the checks are done."
Pablo commented:
"Professionals paa, and they’re reading booklet instructions? Eiiiii, Dr. Omane Boamah and co, mo kosie!"
Nana Kwame said:
"Some checks go through a series of steps, and for some, you need to fill out a booklet as you go on with your checks. It’s a checklist they follow. It doesn’t mean they’re unprofessional. Before the last incident claiming lives, when did we last hear of a military aircraft getting into an accident?"
