A video recording of the late Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, praising his beautiful wife has emerged days after his untimely demise.

In the old interview, the late Member of Parliament for the Tamale Central constituency praised his wife for her religious traits and acknowledged her as his inspiration.
Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed also hailed his wife for being an intelligent and smart woman who had transformed his life since they tied the knot some years ago.
He said:
"My wife is very religious, to tell you the truth, and she has been an inspiration. I am a practicing Muslim, and the thing about my wife that I say with pride is that she is very religious. She is a very smart and intelligent lady. There have been a lot of changes in my life because of her."

The late Environment Minister noted that his wife was against his discussing matters relating to another individual.
Dr Murtala Muhammed also added that his wife regularly challenged him on certain issues and that he always thought of her whenever he wanted to speak in public.
He said:
"My wife will not allow you to talk about anybody, even with her. Such a woman will challenge you. My wife challenges me a lot. Sometimes I think of my wife when I want to say something."

Murtala Muhammed dies in tragic helicopter crash
Dr Murtala Muhammed was one of the eight passengers on board the Ghana Armed Forces' Z-9 helicopter that crashed in a thick forest in the Adansi Akrofuom District near Obuasi on August 6, 2025.

He and Dr Edward Omane Boamah were the two cabinet ministers involved in the unfortunate incident that occurred when they and six others were en route to an anti-Galamsey event in Obuasi.

Following the tragedy, the government declared a three-day national mourning period and held Wreath-laying ceremonies at the Ceremonial Gardens at the Presidency on Thursday, August 7, and Friday, August 8.
A vigil was also held at the State House forecourt on Saturday, August 9, attended by government officials and families of the deceased.
On Sunday, August 10, 2025, Dr Murtala Muhammed and Alhaji Muniru Limuna were buried in the Military Cemetery after Muslim Jannaza prayers at the Forecourt of the State House. His wife and family attended his burial.
