The debt, which stemmed from a failed recruitment deal orchestrated by Bright Aweh, was a central issue that led to Stephen's devastating financial woes.

He attempted to retrieve the funds from Bright, but his requests were reportedly ignored, ultimately leading to the matter being reported to the police.
Although Stephen Amoah was briefly arrested and later released, his life spiralled further into chaos as the financial and emotional strain took its toll.
In the leaked audio, which appears to be a phone conversation between Stephen and an unnamed friend, the late officer openly acknowledged the full extent of his debt.
Contrary to earlier reports that suggested the debt was GH¢500,000, Stephen made it clear that he owed significantly more, GH¢700,000.
Friends and family of the late immigration officer are grappling with his tragic death. Bright is also in police custody, facing the law over his last encounter with Stephen.
