In a video spotted by YEN.com.gh on X, the man of God, identified as Prophet Emmanuel Adjei, delivered a prophecy to a congregant, warning her to keep her distance from the particular vendor from whom she buys the dish.
According to him, the food from the vendor was 'spiritually poisoned' and claimed that the waakye was responsible for her constant illness and the blockage in her throat, which doctors have misdiagnosed as a goitre.
Speaking further, he cautioned the woman that any surgery to correct the issue would fail unless she heeded the spiritual warning.
In his words:
"They will tell you it is goitre, but it's not goitre. They rush you to the hospital to perform an operation. It will not be successful. The waakye seller. Stop eating the waakye."
Pastor gives lady 6-month waakye break
During the service, the woman confirmed the pastor’s words. She disclosed that she had already decided the previous day to stop buying from that vendor.

The pastor added a specific detail, noting that the last time she purchased from the vendor, she had felt a burning pain in her left leg and heard a voice warning her not to buy the food.
The woman verified his claim, although the accuracy of his words could not be independently confirmed.
According to him, such prophecies served as a tool to explain spiritual 'plots' or 'traps' that could negatively affect individuals.

Interview on spiritual food
During an interview with Rev. Chinedu Okafor, Nigerian senior pastor of Kingdom Restoration Ministries, YEN.com.gh sought his perspective on the trending prophecy by the Ghanaian preacher Prophet Emmanuel Adjei.
Rev. Chinedu acknowledged that such intersections between spirituality and health are common in West Africa, where many turn to prophetic insight when medical solutions seem limited.
He cautioned, however, against letting fear override medical advice.
“God uses both prophets and doctors,” he said.
While he urged authorities to act discreetly if public safety is at risk, he warned against mocking spiritual beliefs.
In his words:
“These moments are chances to teach, not tear down,” he added.
True prophecy, he concluded, should bring peace and discernment, not panic.
