Ghana's former president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, was at the Manyhia Palace on August 21, 2025, for the one-week observance of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The event saw the presence of dignitaries from across the country in Kumasi to commiserate with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Asante Kingdom for the loss of their Asantehemaa, whose death was confirmed at an Asanteman Council on August 11.
The immediate past president, who governed the country from 2016 to 2024, was seen in his traditional mourning cloth.
Scores of Ghanaian mourners hailed the former president as he waved and made his way into the palace for the event.
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, Akufo-Addo was seen signing the book of condolences opened at the Manyhia Palace for guests.
Addo-Kufuor commiserates with Otumfuo at Manhyia Palace
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Dr Addo-Kufuor commiserated with Otumfuo Osei Tutu at the Manhyia Palace after the Asantehemaa's passing.
In a video, the former Defence Minister and NPP founding member shook hands with the Asantehene and offered words of comfort as he grieved.
Dr Addo-Kufuor's visit to the Manhyia Palace marked a rare public appearance for the former politician, who has rarely been seen in public in recent years.
