Abigail Salami, the wife of Samuel Aboagye, a victim of the tragic helicopter crash near Obuasi, has mourned her husband following his demise.

On Monday, the widow of the deceased Acting Deputy Director-General of Operations at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) took to her official TikTok page to pay tribute to her husband.

Abigail Salami shared an emotional video of her numerous moments with her late husband throughout their time as a married couple in Ghana and abroad, as she honoured his memory.

Samuel Aboagye's wife also accompanied the video with a heartbreaking message to her late husband, writing:

Abigail Salami and Samuel Aboagye were reportedly married for a few years before his untimely demise on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In a recent interview with media personalities Cookie Tee and Roland Walker, the Deputy Director General at the National Sports Authority (NSA), Donkor Fuseni, shared that the widow had been living alone in the US with her child and no family.

Former Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, who described Samuel Aboagye as a 'son,' also shared that the deceased had also been preparing to travel to the United States of America to reunite with his wife and child before his untimely death in the crash.

Samuel Aboagye, others die in helicopter crash

Samuel Aboagye was among the eight individuals who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

The victims of the unfortunate incident were five political officials, including two cabinet ministers and three members of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, the Deputy National Security Coordinator, Limuna Muniru, and the former Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Samuel Sarpong, were on board the helicopter when tragedy struck.

The victims were en route to the official launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP), an anti-Galamsey event, in Obuasi before the tragic crash.

Following their demise, a flower-laying ceremony was held for the victims, with President John Dramani Mahama and other dignitaries also visiting their homes to mourn with their families.

Samuel Aboagye's last interactions in helicopter emerge

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Samuel Aboagye's last interactions in the Z-9 helicopter before its crash emerged.

In an interview, Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi spoke about the conversations with the Obuasi MCE before tragedy struck.

The KMA boss also responded to the backlash from Ghanaians over the use of sacks to transport the remains of victims.
