Mugabe Maase's legal battle and pardon
Mugabe Maase is the host of Inside Politics, an afternoon political talk show on Radio XYZ that also airs on TV XYZ, two media subsidiaries owned by the current Chief of Staff, of the Republic of Ghana, Julius Debrah.
He’s known for his controversial takes on national issues and open support for the National Democratic Congress.
The TV XYZ broadcast journalist has on many occasions said he was on radio to work for the NDC and John Dramani Mahama.
Mugabe’s love for the NDC, however, landed him in trouble in 2016, when the Supreme Court sentenced him and two others, Godwin Ako Gunn and Alistair Tairo Nelson, to four months in prison.
This was after the Apex Court found them guilty of making contemptuous statements during the hearing of a high-stakes case.
Mugabe Maase, then host of Pampaso on the now-defunct Montie FM, was charged for giving his platform to Godwin Gunn and Alistair Nelson to threaten the lives of judges of the superior court.
However, a few months into the sentencing at the Nsawam Prison, the Montie Three, as they were popularly referred to, were pardoned by President John Mahama.

Mugabe Maase complains over lack of appointment
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Mugabe Maase called out President John Dramani Mahama over what he described as sidelining pro-NDC journalists.
In a video, he expressed dissatisfaction over the appointment of some Ghanaian journalists, especially from Joy FM and TV3, who had been given government appointments.
His comment followed the appointments of JoyNews' Emefa Apawu, TV3's Paa Kwesi Asare, and others to plum positions during President John Dramani Mahama's second term.
