She recalled covering the elections in Tamale, where she worked closely with the late minister, who was confirmed on August 6, as one of eight casualties of the tragic helicopter crash in Obuasi.
Alhaji Dr Murtala Mohammed was aboard the Ghana Armed Forces Z‑9 helicopter en route to Obuasi for the launching of the responsible cooperative mining and skills development programme when the tragedy occurred.
The president, John Dramani Mahama, was billed to be the event's special guest, but sent his Minister for Defence in his stead.
All eight persons aboard the flight died on the spot. Their charred bodies were retrieved in pieces at the crash site.
