Scholes' thoughts on Rashford

The Man United winger told journalist Henry Winter he wants a "new challenge", sparking mixed reactions from fans.

“For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.” When I leave it's going to be ‘no hard feelings'. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United."

The 27-year-old is in his 10th season at Old Trafford, but his performances last season and this season have been subpar.

Scholes sympathised with the academy graduate but feels it is time for him to leave the club.

"I hate seeing local lads leave," Scholes said Sky Sports' the Overlap via MEN. "It feels like the end for him. He doesn't look happy, the lad. Even if he's scoring a goal. You think, what's wrong with him. Is he getting the right support behind the scenes?"
"You don't know what's happening...I think his on and off the field choices aren't quite right."

Rashford could leave the club at the end of the season despite signing a five-year deal in 2023, per BBC Sport.
