Following over two years of police work, Partey now faces six charges in total: five counts relating to non-consensual acts and one of sexual assault.
The Crown Prosecution Service formally filed the charges last month, setting in motion the next legal chapter for the 32-year-old footballer.
How Thomas Partey's first day in court unfolded
On Tuesday, August 5, Partey appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court dressed in black trousers, a zip-neck jumper, and a navy blazer.
According to Football London, the Ghana international only spoke briefly in court, confirming his name, date of birth, and address.
The hearing was presided over by District Judge Paul Goldspring in Courtroom 3. Partey's session in court reportedly lasted for 15 minutes.
Representing the prosecution was Jocelyn Ledward KC, while Partey was defended by barrister Emma Fenn.
During the session, the judge granted Partey conditional bail. His next court date has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, at the Central Criminal Court, more commonly known as the Old Bailey.
Conditions of Partey's bail outlined
The terms of his release are strict. Partey is barred from contacting the three women involved in the case.
He must also inform the police of any changes to his home address or if he plans to travel abroad.
Acknowledging his current career situation, Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring commented during the hearing, as cited by GOAL.
“I understand he’s no longer employed in this country and playing in Spain now.”

Can Partey still play football despite legal issues in the UK?
Despite the looming case, Partey is expected to continue his football journey.
Following the expiration of his contract with Arsenal, the midfielder has reportedly agreed to join Villarreal in Spain’s La Liga.
However, his potential move has not come without backlash.
A section of Villarreal supporters have voiced strong objections, criticising the club’s pursuit of the Ghanaian given the gravity of the allegations.
As the legal process unfolds, all eyes will remain on how both the courtroom and the football pitch shape the next chapter in Thomas Partey's career.
