In comparison to their rivals, it could be argued that Tottenham, despite finishing 17th last season, have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer window, having spent just €145.60m (£123.7m) on new signings so far.
Their north London counterparts, who finished second last term without any silverware, have been far more active, splashing out €224.20m (£190.4m) – the third-highest spend in the league this summer.
Ferdinand compares Kudus and Madueke
Tottenham and Arsenal have both strengthened their attacks for the upcoming season, with Arsenal bringing in Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres, according to the Premier League team's official website.
Meanwhile, Spurs have secured Mohammed Kudus for £55m, a similar fee to what Arsenal paid for Madueke, in a bid to bolster their forward line.
In a conversation with Joel Beya, as covered by TBR Football, Rio Ferdinand was asked to compare Kudus and Madueke, and whether he believed Kudus was the superior player or signing.
The former Manchester United defender didn't choose one player over the other, instead suggesting that the two were fairly similar in terms of potential.

In the conversation, Ferdinand raised the question of whether Kudus was significantly better than Madueke. He then shared his thoughts, stating that, in terms of potential, he didn't believe there was a huge difference between the two.
He emphasized that age was a key factor, and pointed out that Madueke had played far more games than Kudus, who was welcomed to Spurs by Richarlison with a playful jab.
Ferdinand also mentioned that Madueke had a high ceiling, believing he could go far and was a great addition to the team.
Kudus' stats, Madueke's stats
The Ghanaian international has provided one assist in five pre-season matches since his move to Tottenham, though he is still waiting for his first goal. At West Ham last season, the former Ajax man recorded 5 goals and 4 assists in all competitions.
Although he has played in friendly matches against Bayern Munich, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Luton, and Reading, Mohammed Kudus will be hoping to score his first goal for Tottenham when they face Paris Saint-Germain on August 13.
The 2025 UEFA Super Cup will feature a thrilling clash between the Europa League winners and the Champions League holders, all set to kick off before the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Meanwhile, Noni Madueke has played two pre-season games for Arsenal without making an assist or scoring a goal. The England winger registered 11 goals and 5 assists for Chelsea during the 2024/25 season.
